Purpose Is for Everyone, Even You
Remember that thing you always wanted to be when you grow up? When you were young, you had a dream, and that dream seemed to be doable. Of course, it did. You were young, carefree, and oblivious to life. Our self-journey was within us. Whether it be a pilot, teacher, or astronaut, we had dreams and at that time there didn’t seem to be a reason why we couldn’t do it.
That is until we grew up. As we got older, life became more real, and all of sudden, those dreams we had started to fade. And now, nothing seems doable. I’m not sure when it happened, but we let our younger selves down. We grew up and decided we could no longer be who we wanted to be.
We decided we weren’t good enough, we weren’t smart enough, and we didn’t know enough. We decided we didn’t have what it took to become those wonderful things we dreamed about in our youth and settled for whatever life gave us.
Our Purpose Is Still Within Us
Although life changed, those inner thoughts were still within us. We never really let go of our dreams and desires, we just ignore them and decide to take a different path. Truth be told, that only satisfies us for a period of time. Eventually, we begin to feel unfulfilled, and we may even go through a period of depression and hopelessness. Why? Because we let our younger selves down and gave up on our dreams.
Well, guess what? It’s not too late to make those dreams come true. You just have to embrace who God made you to be. Stop looking outward at what everyone else is doing and focus on your younger self and what is already within you. We sometimes take the wrong paths in life. We get stuck and feel defeated. But you’re not defeated, just unwilling to allow what’s within you to come to light.
Sometimes We Need Help
Follow the path that leads you to your destination and cultivate what’s within you. That’s not always so easy to do. Sometimes we need help.
“We got to struggle through it. And when we do that, we’re going to find ourselves in a place that we didn’t know we would be, but yet, it’s exactly where we want to be.” –Sylvia Montgomery
